The Laidlers In Georgia

Well the Laidler Family History is sorted and no one has lots of information about the Laidler Family Tree. However I am currently researching, and looking for descendants of the Laidler Family from  Houston County, Macon County, and Perry Georgia. I have compiled the Census information from 1900 1910, and 1920 for easy searching.

What I know about the Laidlers is that they lived in various areas of Dooly County, Houston County, Macon County, Peach County and Pulaski County (Elko, Fort Valley, Hawkinsville, Henderson, Marshallville, Perry, and Uniadella). They lived and worked on various farms throughout the area.

Laidler traits that have been found are:

  • Normally Light in skin tone
  • Dark Finger Tips or a dark streak down the finger under the nail
  • Some female Laidlers were known to be Cherokee Indian

Alternate Laidler Spellings

  • Laidlaw
  • Laidler
  • Laitlers
  • Latelers - Discovered 4/26/2007

Surnames that are known to be related to this line of Laidlers are:

  • Askew
  • Brown
  • Davis/Davies
  • Grider
  • Holt
  • McClendon/McClenton (Married into the family)
  • Ridley
  • Riley

Some of these Laidlers are buried in Davis Chapel Cemetery (located behind Davis Chapel A. M. E. Church and School) in Rural Perry on old Highway 41.  I visited there on March 12, 2000 and founded the following grave markers
